ACE²-EU: Two International Student Programmes Begin at LIK

On 5 October, two international ACE²-EU Alliance programmes began at Lietuvos inžinerijos kolegija (LIK) – the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Development of Engineering Skills: Racing for the Future” and the Flavour School “Mobility Implementation in Sustainable Smart Cities”.

Participants in the BIP “Development of Engineering Skills: Racing for the Future” are developing their engineering skills through motorsport and racing car technologies. Students are exploring racing car design, aerodynamics, data analysis and telemetry, race strategy, safety and race organisation. Theoretical knowledge is combined with practical activities, laboratory work, racing simulators and testing on a racing circuit.

At the same time, students taking part in the Flavour School “Mobility Implementation in Sustainable Smart Cities” are exploring smart and sustainable mobility solutions and their application in modern cities. Working in international interdisciplinary teams, participants are addressing real-world transport and mobility challenges, while the practical part of the programme will allow them to experience different aspects of mobility beyond the classroom – including drifting, driving on a racing circuit and other practical activities.

Both programmes will continue throughout the week, with activities taking place at LIK and at other practical activity locations in Kaunas and beyond. The international week will give students an opportunity to put theoretical knowledge into practice, work in international teams and gain first-hand experience of modern engineering and mobility solutions.
