ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The aim of the forestry study programme, which leads to the award of a professional bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences, is to train specialists who are able to work in various areas of forestry, organize planting, maintenance and cultivation of forests, establish stands of different species composition and functional purposes, and plan the methods of basic felling, apply measures for the protection of forests against diseases, pests and fires, organize timber harvesting using modern technologies, and draw up projects for forest management.

Graduation from this study programme leads to higher education and the ability to work in a wide range of forestry fields, to establish nurseries and to grow seedlings for reforestation, to establish, to develop timber products and forest fuels businesses, to carry out forest surveys and to determine the value of forest resources, to set up plantations of energy plants, medicinal herbs, Christmas trees, etc., and to organize the protection of the fauna of the forests and a rational hunting economy.

Students choosing this study programme have the opportunity to study under the Erasmus Student Mobility Programme in higher education institutions in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, as well as to carry out Erasmus+ traineeships in foreign companies and higher education institutions.

After completing your forestry studies, you will be able to work for the State Forest Enterprise (forestry offices, nurseries, forest management), the State Forest Service, environmental protection authorities, private forest enterprises, or to set up your own forestry and wood-processing business.

After completing your complementary studies, you will be able to apply for a Master's degree.
