ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Automotive Engineering study programme at LIK turns motor transport enthusiasts into professional and responsible specialists in the transportation sector. The programme prepares graduates for careers in the automotive sector requiring experts in land transport elements, internal combustion engines, electrical and hybrid technologies, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, vehicles and their maintenance, able to analyse and solve problems of land transport engineering, select appropriate methods, tools and technological equipment. 

Future engineers study physics, mechanics, computer-aided design, automobile structures and engineering materials, fuel systems, maintenance and repair technologies, etc. The knowledge gained is consolidated and improved during practical training and internships, which last 20 weeks altogether and are conducted in four stages: introductory training performed at LIK; professional activity, automobile service technology and final internships performed in partner companies. Practical training is carried out at LIK Bosch Training Centre, UAB Tobis Wheel Repair Practical Laboratory established in LIK Automobile Servicing Centre, Volkswagen car design laboratory, and sports cars' preparation and maintenance companies, such as Kaunas Sports Club "Juta Racing". 

During their studies, students of the programme are encouraged to get involved in the activities of KTK Racing Division

Students have a possibility to study under the Erasmus+ student mobility programme in higher education institutions of the EU, Norway and Turkey, as well as to perform Erasmus+ traineeships in foreign companies. You can find the full list of LIK partner institutions here

Graduates of the programme obtain a Professional Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and can diagnose car breakdowns, organise maintenance and repair work, organise vehicle preparation for sports events, manage and organise service station activity and run a vehicle inspection centre, automotive transport company or department. Common graduate career paths include post-accident assessment specialists, heads of servicing centres, company and department manager in the transport maintenance sector.

Students are awarded a Professional Bachelor's degree in Engineering upon completion of their studies and successful defense of graduation thesis. Graduates can continue their studies and obtain a master’s degree.

Citizens of Lithuania or other member countries of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) and their family members, non-EU and non-EEA nationals granted a right of permanent residence in Lithuania, stateless persons and Lithuanian nationals residing abroad can apply through the Centralised Admission Information System and can be accepted to the state-funded study places or claim for scholarships in accordance with the procedures established by the applicable legislation.

Lauma Kazuša | Head of the Market Analysis Department at SUEZ Trading Europe (HQ in Paris, France) 

Research focus: environmental technologies. The researcher specialises in and works on various international projects related to waste management, energy recovery from biomass, in-depth inspections in this field, competition and market analysis. In 2018, Lauma Kazusha became a researcher at SUEZ Trading Europe (HQ in Paris, France) and leads market analysis and trading in the sector of alternative fuels, wood, paper, plastics and non-ferrous metals. In her free time, Lauma participates in the activities of several ecogroups and writes articles for the green section in a local magazine.

Specialises in the organisation and management of maintenance and repair services for trucks and their parts. Supervises student internships and conducts integrated lectures.

Specialises in automotive batteries, their maintenance and technologies. Conducts seminars, integrated lectures for students and representatives of various educational institutions, teachers and specialists of car repair companies.
