From 21 to 25 September, Goce Delčev University in Štip (North Macedonia) is hosting the ACE²-EU Alliance Flavour School “UNd-9 United in Design – A Cross-Cultural Journey of Nine Cities”. Lietuvos inžinerijos kolegija students Md Mazedul Islam Shawon, Md Abdulla Al Ifran and Md Mosabber Hossin are taking part in the programme.
The 35-hour intensive programme brings together undergraduate and postgraduate students from ACE²-EU partner institutions to explore the cultural diversity of nine European countries through design, art and creative communication. Students from architecture, graphic design, fashion, fine arts and media backgrounds work together in interdisciplinary teams.
On the first day, participants explored the culture of Stip by visiting the Isar area and the Stip City Museum. During a practical activity, they also created visual “Culture Snapshots” reflecting memories, traditions and cultural identities from the different participating countries.
Throughout the week, international student teams are taking part in creative workshops to develop prototypes for an exhibition panel and a spatial marker designed for a university garden or public space in Štip. The programme places a strong emphasis on intercultural dialogue, experimentation, storytelling and collaborative creation. The resulting prototype will serve as a model that can be adapted for use at other ACE²-EU partner institutions and in public spaces across European cities.
