From 5 to 9 October, the ACE²-EU Applied Blended Challenge (ABC) programme "Civilian Contingency Planning: C2PE BISR" is taking place in Skopje, North Macedonia, with the participation of Lietuvos inžinerijos kolegija HEI (LIK) students Umair Ahmed, MD Nizam Uddin, Vakaris Stundys and Arnas Imša.
The programme focuses on civil protection, emergency management and cooperation between different institutions in responding to complex crises, including cyberattacks, power outages, floods and hybrid threats. Students gain insights into European Union, NATO and national emergency management frameworks, risk assessment methods, communication strategies and the principles of integrated response.
During the on-site week, students participate in practical workshops, expert lectures, realistic emergency simulations and hands-on exercises. Working in international interdisciplinary teams, they learn to assess risks, make decisions under challenging circumstances and develop integrated emergency response plans.
The programme is organised by Goce Delčev University and the General Mihailo Apostolski Military Academy, in cooperation with ACE²-EU partner institutions and organisations working in civil protection, defence, security and emergency management.
