ACE²-EU: LIK Students Explore Local Traditions and Agritourism Opportunities in Romania

From 26 to 30 October, Constantin Brâncuși University in Târgu Jiu, Romania, is hosting the ACE²-EU Alliance Flavour School “Agritourism, Local Traditions and Impact in the Communities”, attended by Lietuvos inžinerijos kolegija students Md Nobi Ullah Nokib, Esha Mishkatul Jannat, Hridoy Debnath, Alam Moataj and Md Mehedi Hasan.

The five-day international programme focuses on rural tourism, cultural heritage, local gastronomy and sustainable regional development. Particular emphasis is placed on digital storytelling and the production of short videos, demonstrating how modern communication tools can help preserve and promote local traditions.

Throughout the programme, students are exploring the cultural heritage of Romania's Gorj and Oltenia regions, visiting local communities and learning about traditional crafts, culinary heritage and rural tourism initiatives. During practical activities, participants are engaging with local residents, artisans and entrepreneurs, developing their skills in conducting interviews, filming and creating visual stories.

Working in international interdisciplinary teams, students are developing creative projects aimed at showcasing traditional products, local customs and rural tourism opportunities. The final outcome of the programme will be a promotional video of up to 90 seconds, in which participants will highlight a selected local tradition, product or element of gastronomic heritage.

The programme combines an exploration of cultural heritage with practical skills in video content creation, communication and tourism marketing, providing students with an opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of local communities' cultural identity.
