ACE²-EU: 5th Knowledge Creation Team Workshop Takes Place at LIK

From 22 to 24 September, Lietuvos inžinerijos kolegija is hosting the 5th ACE²-EU Alliance Applied Research and Innovation Centres (ARC) Knowledge Creation Team Workshop, “Green Circular Economy & Bio-Based Materials”. The three-day event brings together researchers from ACE²-EU partner institutions to develop joint project ideas, strengthen international cooperation and explore new opportunities for interdisciplinary research.

On the first day of the workshop, participants were welcomed by LIK Director Lina Girdauskienė and Sangeetha Brennsteiner, WP3 Work Package Leader. External stakeholder Anastasija Novikova from Vytautas Magnus University presented the role of the bioeconomy in sustainable development and its importance in addressing current sustainability challenges. The programme also placed a strong emphasis on links between science and business, technology transfer and LIK’s practical experience in these areas.

Participants presented their project ideas and explored shared interests and opportunities to bring together expertise from different fields to develop potential international projects. Practical sessions also covered European Union funding calls, their analysis and the preparation of project proposals.

The first day also included a visit to the facilities and laboratories of LIK’s Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Technology. Participants were introduced to the LIK’s infrastructure, applied research opportunities and LIK’s practical experience.

The workshop aims to strengthen the activities of the ACE²-EU Applied Research and Innovation Centres and build closer links between different research fields. Over the remaining two days, participants will continue developing project ideas, preparing project proposals and exchanging feedback while exploring new opportunities for collaboration across the ACE²-EU Alliance.
