A Vibrant Week for ACE²-EU: LIK Joins Partner Events in Germany

From October 20th to the 24th, students and representatives of Lietuvos inžinerijos kolegija (LIK) are taking part in a series of ACE²-EU Alliance partner events in Ingolstadt, Germany.

A wide range of activities are taking place this week, including the “Kaleidoscope” Cultural Festival, three Applied Challenge-Based (ABC) blended learning programs titled “Sustainable Cities”, and the ACE²-EU Annual Congress featuring meetings of the Alliance’s Work groups, Management Board, Research Policy and External Stakeholders, Student Advisory Board, and Staff Advisory Board.

Cultural Festival “Kaleidoscope”

“Kaleidoscope” is a dynamic and inclusive international celebration of the ACE²-EU Alliance. The festival brings together students, lecturers, and partners from all participating universities in one space, featuring artistic performances, exhibitions, creative workshops, and interactive activities.
More than just an event, it serves as a platform where diverse cultures and traditions meet, fostering meaningful connections and strengthening the Alliance’s partnership.

ABC Programs “Sustainable Cities”: Three Topics, One Mission

At the same time, Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) is hosting an intensive week of learning.

The three ABC “Sustainable Cities” programs focus on solving real urban challenges – from climate change and mobility to public space redesign and strategic city planning. Participants work in international teams through a blended (online and in-person) format, and their proposed solutions are presented to municipalities and urban partners.

Key program themes include:

  • “Sustainable Cities: Managing Sustainable Cities” – focusing on strategic urban governance, sustainable development planning in Neuburg an der Donau and Ingolstadt, stakeholder engagement, and policy design.
  • “Sustainable Cities: Environmental, Social, and Economic Challenges” – examining indicators of urban sustainability, social and economic transformation, and developing solutions to attract talent and enhance quality of life.
  • “Sustainable Cities: Re-designing Public Spaces – PlatzDa!” – developing innovative proposals for revitalizing public spaces, emphasizing climate resilience, inclusivity, and community engagement.

ACE²-EU Annual Congress

The Annual Congress brings together university leaders, academic communities, and student representatives from across the Alliance to discuss shared achievements, strategic directions, and future cooperation.
It serves as a key forum for shaping the Alliance’s collective vision, advancing internationalization, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
