ACE²-EU: International Programme in Madrid Combined Wine Heritage, Fashion and Creativity

From 1 to 5 June, the ACE²-EU Alliance and Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Mythology of Wine: Fashion, Cultural Heritage and Artistic Creation” took place at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) in Madrid, Spain. The international programme brought together students and academic staff from five European universities, including students from Lietuvos inžinerijos kolegija, to explore the cultural heritage and mythology of wine and their connections with contemporary fashion and design.

During the programme, participants worked in international and interdisciplinary teams, took part in creative workshops and mentoring sessions, and visited cultural institutions. Through practical activities, they developed artistic and textile concepts inspired by European wine traditions, cultural heritage, and sustainability principles.

The programme culminated in a fashion show at Madrid’s Costume Museum, where participants presented their creations to the academic community and representatives of the cultural sector. The programme was also supported by the winery Bodegas Valduero, which provided participants with an opportunity to gain insight into the world of winemaking.

This initiative once again demonstrated how creativity, cultural heritage, and international collaboration can become a meaningful learning experience while encouraging innovative approaches to Europe’s cultural traditions.
